We spent the weekend of July 4th camping with the Raymond's. We all had a great time, minus the skeeters and a little wind on our last night. We came home on Monday morning in time to start the birthday celebrations:)
The Bikes: the kids were on their bikes pretty much from the time they got up until it was too dark to see. We went on many, many bike rides around the campground. The roads were gravel which posed some problems but the trailer parking lot was HUGE and for the most part empty so we spent lots of time there too.
The Beach: of course the beach was a hit even though it was pretty rocky and not very big....only adults seem to notice those small details. Eli is a little fish and seems to have no fear of the water. He flipped in his little floaty and went under...when he came up he scream-cried "I just drowned". Then after a little puke he was right back in. Katelynn on the other hand was a lot more fearful. She rallied and had an absolute blast.
The Bug and Ball: Day 2 at the beach we picked a spot in the grass under a tree and set up. Then spent the day swimming and playing. Katelynn found a ladybug and played with her for about 20 minutes. She was so sad when Olivia finally flew away. I tried to explain 20 minutes with a ladybug is a pretty good run. While Katelynn was busy with her ladybug Eli played with the beach ball. He played with Henry for awhile, played with Gary for a bit, played on his own for a bit before deciding it was time to swim again. Who would have thought a $1 beach ball would be so popular!!
The Babes: Getting them to stay still long enough for a picture was a little hard.
The Beast: I LOVE our new tent!! It was so wonderful to have EXTRA space while camping!!
Such a wonderful weekend. So much fun and a fireworks show too. Thank you to the Raymond's for coming along and sharing the fun!!
