Frist Weekend in October

We spent the first weekend of October in the kitchen cooking, doing chores in the yard and running through the sprinkler. Yep, you read that right.......running through the sprinkler in October!!

Nemo Wrappers: turkey, ham, lettuce, spinach, carrots, pea pods, cheese & cream cheese. They loved every ingredient, tasted them all but when all was done and wrapped they both tried telling me they didn't like it. To which they were told.....well you made it, you get to eat it.

Tuna Boats (Chicken Boats for K): Tuna, cucumbers, mayo, mustard and cheese mixed together. Spooned into a hollowed out pepper and topped with a chip. Again both loved every ingredient but when it was on their plates they were not having it. In trying to get them to eat I told them "whoever finishes last has to go to bed". I was only kidding but once they started shoveling it in I decided to go with it. Luckily they both finished at the same time!! And were rewarded with getting to make cookies:)

And then there were the chores. They get 1 penny for each chestnut or pokey chestnut shell they pick up out of the grass. They get paid out once a week. Normally it's somewhere around 75 each. This week however they hit the mother load. Eli had 197 and Katelynn had 167. We figure, ballpark, in the last 2 months they've picked up around 1,500 of these things!! After chores it was time for our last round in the sprinkler for the year. Even though it was pretty cold they made it over 30 mins. I was cold just looking at them!!
