The conferences went amazingly well, of course.....have you met my kids:) It was so fun and interesting to see all the changes from last year. The kids had special one on one time with Mrs. Leland which she called "game time" but was actually a few little tests. They both did great during all the tests......colors, shapes, numbers (1-10), letters upper and lower case, cutting along a wavy line, writing their names, following instructions (drawing different lines or pictures), completing patterns and sorting....etc. They did wonderful on the tests, Eli is a tad ahead of Katelynn on some things...he has more control tracing or writing but is also a lot more interested in all that than she is. She's just like her Mamma and gets distracted easily. Hey, shiny things are cool...don't judge!!
It seems that E is our little thinker and K is our little social butterfly.....surprised, nope. They both stay on task, listen to instruction, pay attention, do not interrupt and are little smarty pants:) Katelynn does have a chatty streak in her though....after just a test or 2 with the teacher she decided it was time to just chat but got back on track easily. Eli was all business during his testing. They both get along with all their classmates and share well. I volunteered in their class (I am normally in the office when I'm there) and it was so fun to see all the kids interacting and playing games together. It was nice to actually see the games they talk about all the time. "Monster" at recess was a crack up, "Snow Princesses" was priceless.....6 girls playing together and getting along is huge!
And now they're all registered and set to head off to Adams in the fall. I can't believe they're going to be in kindergarten!! Weren't they just born last week?! Its all a blur and went by way too fast! We decided to keep them in the same class for now, we just don't see how having them together could be negative especially in K. Based on what I saw and what Mrs. Leland said you can't even tell they're related when they're at school and that's just with 8 other kids in their class.....add another 20+ next year and I doubt things are going to change.
We're proud of our little monkeys.....not going to lie, gave ourselves a lil pat on the back too:) It's nice to hear your kids are well behaved, patient, caring and loving, on task and a joy to have in class!!
