Friday was a late night for the kids.....they were up until about 11pm. Yup they were beat and yep we paid for it on Saturday a tad. Saturday was filled with the Marysville Strawberry Festival and Parade. In the morning we went down to the Fair for rides and lunch. The kids had an absolute blast on the rides (I think our days of a $40 day at the Fair are over), no surprise the food wasn't a big hit but the police dogs and balloons were.
We took a little break after the rides and headed to nap the kids and get ready for the big ol parade. Maddie was in the parade this year, it was so fun to see her marching along in her cheerleader uniform. As she passed we were all hooting and hollering but unfortunately she didn't hear us. The kids had a great time during the parade and did awesome especially considering it didn't end until 10:30. They ate more than I've ever seen them eat, laughed like crazy, cheered and waved, pointed out that horses shouldn't poop in the street.....all around they just had a great time. There were a few parts they didn't like, mostly the Seafair Pirates and the nosiy cannon. I didn't really like them either!!
Sunday was all about Father's Day and entertaining all the overtired kids. Try as we did, we weren't able to get our kids to nap. Katelynn asked at about 7:30 to go to bed (little did she know she was already headed that way) and both kids were out by 7:32.
And Monday it was time to head home. We stopped for a visit and lunch with Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Bud on our way out. Eli and Katelynn thought it was the funniest thing ever that Grandpa ordered a banana split for lunch:)
And this is what Josh and I were really waiting for......
We really enjoyed the silence on our way to Ellensburg. We stopped to visit with Josh's parents and of course the kids ran themselves silly as they always do on the ranch. It was nice they were able to burn off some energy before getting back in the car!! Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries so I didn't get any pictures this time.
And awww home sweet home.
